So true! I spanked my daughter exactly once. I hated it, it did nothing. You are right and most people start spanking when kids are toddlers, the exact time that they do the normal things they can’t help that also just happen to drive parents mad.

I have a daycare and I manage to discipline every child who comes to me effectively with absolutely no violence. There is a difference between discipline and abuse. Discipline improves behavior in a positive way and must be done to teach life lessons.

Abuse is something that out of control people do when they feel they are out of options. Period.
